The name of this organization shall be Bringing Awareness To Students (B.A.T.S).

B.A.T.S. (Bringing Awareness to Students) is a youth-led, arts-focused prevention group dedicated to utilizing creativity and community action to prevent teen substance use and mental health disorders. Founded by students, we use our talents to educate and inspire our peers and our community to make healthy choices.

Description Section 1: Eligibility
B.A.T.S. is open to youth between seventh and twelfth grade who align with our mission.
All members must have an active Discord account and join our server.
Membership is reviewed and granted by the leadership team based on an application process.
Section 2: Requirements
Members must remain active by:
Not missing more than three meetings in a calendar year (meetings usually occur once a month).
Liking announcements in the main Discord channel as acknowledgment.
Communicating absences in advance via the designated contact.
Section 3: Expectations
Respect all members, adults, and the structure of the group.
Refrain from off-topic posts in official channels.
Represent the group positively.
Zero Tolerance Policy: All B.A.T.S. members, whether serving in a leadership role, participating in an event, or representing the organization in any capacity, are expected to act as respectful, responsible members of the community. Behavior that involves harassment, discrimination, bullying, or any action that undermines the mission of B.A.T.S. will not be tolerated. Members are expected to uphold the integrity and purpose of the group at all times.
Section 4: Reporting Concerns
If an incident occurs that violates the expectations or zero tolerance policy, members are encouraged to report it promptly to the Vice President or President. They will review the situation and determine next steps, which may include:
Speaking directly with the member(s) involved to address the concern.
Engaging in mediation between parties.
Consulting with Adult Support for guidance and possible further action.
Implementing disciplinary measures as outlined in Section 5: Disciplinary Action.
All reports will be handled respectfully and confidentially to the greatest extent possible. The goal is to address concerns in a way that maintains a safe, respectful, and productive environment for all members.
Section 5: Disciplinary Action
For minor violations of member expectations, members will be reminded of expectations and given a chance to correct their behavior.
For repeated or significant violations of member expectations, consequences may include:
Removal from leadership positions, committees, or specific project roles.
Removal from active member status.
Adult Support and the leadership team can assess members’ status and make decisions based on members’ failure to meet expectations.text goes here

Discord is our primary platform for communication.
There will be a general member channel for announcements (reaction only).
A parent/guardian channel will be available for families who wish to stay informed.
A separate response/contact system will be available for personal or private replies.
Calendar & Attendance
The calendar feature on Discord will be regularly updated; however, members should expect changes and additional meetings when necessary.
Attendance will be tracked and logged for all official meetings and events.
Attendance history may influence future responsibilities or opportunities.

Committees will be created by the Adult Support and leadership team as necessary.
Committees help divide the workload so that smaller groups can focus on specific areas that are essential to the success of B.A.T.S.
Members will join committees based on their particular interests and skills.
Section 3: Responsibilities
Help plan and lead meetings.
Review and approve applications.
Monitor attendance and engagement.
Maintain Discord.
Section 4: Selection
Leadership is selected annually or as needed via nomination made by the Adult Support and the existing leadership team.
Must be an active member in good standing with consistent attendance.

Meetings will occur monthly, and dates will be shared via Discord.
Project-based meetings or events may be scheduled as needed.
Members must RSVP or react to events on Discord.

Active members in good standing are eligible to lead or join projects.
Opportunities will be shared in Discord.

This Constitution may be amended with a two-thirds vote by the leadership team after input from the membership of B.A.T.S.
All updates must be communicated clearly and posted in the Discord.
